| 22nd Asian U20 Athletics Championships |
| Chairman’s Message |
| The Asian U20 Athletics Championships has long served as a vital cradle for nurturing rising stars in Asian athletics. Looking back, countless top Asian athletes have made their mark on this stage before advancing to higher arenas such as the Olympic Games and the World Athletics Championships. The Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates (HKAAA) is deeply honored to host the 22nd Asian U20 Athletics Championships, the largest youth athletics event in Asia. This year’s championships will be held from 28th to 31st May, 2026, at the Youth Sports Ground, Kai Tak Sports Park. It brings together elite young athletes from across Asia, who compete not only for medals but also to exchange skills, build friendships, and demonstrate the sporting spirit of unity and perseverance. The Hong Kong, China Athletics Team has achieved remarkable results in recent years, with youth athletes performing particularly exceptionally. At the 21st Asian U20 Athletics Championships, the Hong Kong team secured a total of 2 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals, ranking sixth on the medal table—the highest ranking in our history. Notably, both the Men’s and Women’s 4x100m Relay Teams made history by capturing championship titles. In fact, the HKAAA has been steadfast in driving the development of athletics in Asia, successfully hosting a series of continental regional championships in recent years. Following the successful staging of the “3rd Asian Youth (U18) Athletics Championships” in 2019, we have, over the past two to three years, proudly organized the “19th Asian Marathon Championships” (2024), the “17th Asian Cross Country Championships” (2024), and various East Asian regional competitions. These experiences have not only elevated Hong Kong’s standing in the international athletics community but have also provided invaluable opportunities for our local athletes to compete against Asia’s elite on home soil. More importantly, they have laid a solid foundation for the seamless organization of this year’s U20 Championships. On behalf of the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, partners, staff, and volunteers for their selfless contributions. It is your steadfast support that ensures the success of this event. I hope every participating athlete performs at their best, breaks through their limits, and achieves excellence on the field, writing a brilliant chapter in their sporting careers. Finally, I wish all athletes the best of luck and hope you enjoy the passion that athletics brings throughout the championships!
